The Pros:
As a managed service provider for several years we finally made the switch to Webroot and I was very impressed on both its tiny deployment footprint and its detection rate. We found systems infected that were using managed SEP and saying everything was clean. We tested and tested several flavors of AV solutions that were right for customers and I felt safe knowing it was actually working.
So would I switch no, but.. their are times.
The Cons:
Really overall not much we have been very successful at detection and removal before we even get alerted of issues. The biggest complaint I have at the moment is lack of integration into our Control Center (Connectwise Automate - Formally Labtech) Its there and it installs but reporting and alerting just isn't quite there.
The Uninstall Struggle:
What I have been encountering many times is either multiple installs registered or the single install reporting as running from %temp%
This ends up not reporting in the console but is running on the machine.
Removing it has become a struggle.
I have found many posts on removal but not seem to work.
I have tried app removal via control panel - fails to locate MSI to remove
I download MSI and still fails.
I tried elevation using PSEXEC as it has worked in the past but fails.
Finally using Webroots removal tool - still fails even after reboot.
I was able to find a solution that works for me now but seems strange.
